Ethical beauty range arrives in Frome

Catherine Hill Frome Somerset

Westcountry born skincare and beauty range Aromatika has opened the doors to
its first Somerset store in the centre of Frome.

Located at the bottom of Catherine Hill, the new store stocks the brand’s full
range of handmade organic beauty products ranging from moisturisers,
cleansers and toners, body creams and butters, oils, foam baths and bath salts.
The store will also offer relaxing pampering sessions and beauty treatments in its
treatment rooms, located above the shop floor. The treatments will be available
to book in just a few weeks’ time with trained beauty therapists offering a wide
range of high quality treatments using Aromatika skincare products, as well as
natural make up and nail polish.

Founded by aromatherapist Lisa Hosking in 2006, Aromatika now has four stores
across the Westcountry in Totnes, Truro, Exeter and Frome with a new store set to
open in Glastonbury in the next few weeks.

Westcountry girl Lisa set up the business after living in Sydney for two years
where she developed her passion and knowledge for ethical and vegan beauty
products. She learnt how to make products by hand, and brought her business
idea back to the Westcountry, where she began making cosmetics at her kitchen

The entire Aromatika range is still produced in the Westcountry at Dean Court
Farm in Buckfastleigh, Devon, where products are handmade, hand-potted and
hand-labelled using ethically sourced ingredients.

Lisa said: “I’m so happy to finally be opening my first store in Somerset. After
opening the first store in Totnes 10 years ago, I’ve been lucky enough to have
success with subsequent stores in both Devon and Cornwall, so Somerset
seemed like the next logical step. Frome in particular seems to be undergoing a
period of regeneration at the moment, so it’s really exciting for us to be a part of
that and contribute to the thriving independent retail scene that has evolved in
the town.

She continued: “When I was in Australia, I was inspired by the range of ethical,
vegetarian and vegan beauty products available. Being a lifelong vegetarian, I
was keen to learn more so I trained with a company, went on courses and learnt
how to create my own natural, ethical products. I knew that the products would be well suited to the South West, so came home to start my Aromatika journey
and haven’t looked back since!”

The beauty range is also used in the Aromatika treatment rooms and day spas
available at the Exeter, Totnes and Frome stores. Aromatika products are also
available online and in other stockists throughout the UK and internationally.
As well as being ethically sourced and produced, Aromatika products also look to
provide solutions for different skin complaints, using natural ingredients to
combat common issues.

Some of the most popular products in the Aromatika range include the Frangipani
line, noted for its intense moisturising properties and the Rose Facial Oil which
complements mature skin, helps to heal sun damage and tone down redness.
All Aromatika products are Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS), micro-bead and
parabens free and are not tested on animals.
