Know Your Skin Type

Trying to work out which is your skin type can be confusing. The below may help.

Skin can alter gradually over time due to the natural aging process but of course it is also influenced by seasonal changes, lifestyle, stress or illness and hormonal changes.

Normal skin

This is soft and smooth with an even skin tone, good elasticity, appears plump and not generally prone to spots.

Dry Skin

Generally appearance small pores and a fine texture. Lacks oil and feels dry, delicate and susceptible to fine lines.

Oily Skin

Shiny with open pores and prone to spots and blackheads.

Combination Skin

Usually an oily 't zone' across the forehead, down the nose and chin with normal or slightly dry skin over the cheeks.

Sensitive Skin

Prone to irritation & allergic reactions. May be red, itchy and possibly dry or flaky when irritated, but will appear completely normal when healthy.

Mature Skin

Shows fine lines, wrinkles, broken capillaries, age spots, sagging. The lower levels of the skin thin and lose elasticity, so skin dehydrates easily. Skin may feel tight, especially in winter.
