Aromatika began life in Australia in 2004.

I returned to live near Exeter in the UK early 2006, bringing Aromatika with me.

Aromatika is a passion and I believe in offering what I consider to be a much better alternative to the ‘everyday’ skin care which is available on most supermarket shelves. I hope you will agree and that you will enjoy using Aromatika’s products as much as I enjoy making them.

The average woman can absorb up to 2 kgs of chemicals per year just through using skin care products! That’s quite a frightening statistic! If you care about the foods you eat and choose ‘fresh’ or organic food produce, then it’s time to think about what you’re putting on your skin, given that up to 60% of what we put on our skin is absorbed straight into our bodies.

Some ‘nasties’ to avoid include sodium lauryl sulphate (SLS), propylene glycol and the butyl/methyl/ethyl/propyl/isobutyl parabens. If you want to understand what’s okay and safe to use on your skin, you need to take a little time to educate yourself just a little, so that you can make more informed choices about your skin care.

I think it’s true to say that most of us don’t understand what we need to be looking for in our skin care products, so we just trust the big brand names to decide for us. Go and check out the ingredients on the back of your favourite moisturiser or shampoo and see how many of the above ‘nasties’ are included!

Aromatika is planning to submit an application for Soil Association Certification. The Soil Association is the top Certification body in the UK and it has high standards for health and beauty care. For more information, click here Soil and Organic Certification
